About me
Dr. Rochelle Redus is an educator, author, advocate, and community leader whose life and work are rooted in service, faith, and perseverance. Married for 36 years, she is the proud mother of three children—a cherished son now deceased, a daughter, and a bonus son—and grandmother of four and great-grandmother to two. Beyond her immediate family, she is blessed by many who lovingly call her “Mom.”
A lifelong learner, Dr. Redus holds four degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, a Master of Social Work, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Behavioral Health. In 2020, at the age of 56, is when she achieved her doctoral degree, demonstrating that it is never too late to pursue a dream.
Drawing from both her professional expertise and personal experiences, Dr. Redus has become a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. In July 2021, she published her memoir, No Longer Broken, sharing her journey while promoting healing, hope, and awareness. She later released her first inspirational devotional, God Is Keeping Me: 365 Days of Inspirations, in October 2025.
Dr. Redus currently serves as Board President of the North Little Rock Board of Education, representing Zone 3. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing public education. Her service to the district spans more than a decade, having first served on the Board from 2000 to 2006 and returning to service in 2018. A proud graduate of Northeast High School and a product of the North Little Rock School District, she remains deeply committed to public education. Her ties to the district span generations—her children graduated from NLRSD, two of her grandchildren have attended district schools, and her daughter serves as an educator within the district. She also dedicated 11 years of service at Boone Park Elementary School, located within the zone she now represents. As a lifelong member of the North Little Rock School District family, she is committed to ensuring that every student has access to opportunities that support academic achievement and personal growth.
Having overcome many of life's challenges, Dr. Redus uses her story to inspire others to persevere through adversity and embrace their purpose. She credits her accomplishments to her faith in God, the strength of her support system, and a steadfast belief in lifelong growth.
Her life reflects the principles she often shares with others: “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.” “It's not always the destination that makes the journey worth it; sometimes it's the journey itself.” And “Believe in yourself, and you can do unbelievable things.”
